One last fling

Well, before we know it the sun will be going to bed earlier and coming up later. The hot humid air will dry out and become cold. The flowers will take their much needed rest as we begin to pile on more and more layers of clothing. Picnics at the lake will be replaced by hot cocoa by fire. First the pumpkins will appear with their funny and scary faces carved and painted. Fresh baked pies will be cooling as families gather together to give thanks for the year's blessings.

BUT....

Before all that I'm going to have one last fling with summer. Nickel has to go to Dallas on business this weekend so Peanut and I are going to play in Tulsa. We have lots of family in Tulsy Town and will probably crash with one of them. It's been a couple of years since I've been to the zoo. We might take in the Reggae Fest. My brother-in-law has a pool that has been tempting me for months. And we might even brave Woodland Hills Mall! Hope you all are able to have one last fling with summer as well!

Have fun, Leslee! We're planning one last trip to the lake as our last fling. Incredible that it's almost the end of August, isn't it?

TJ and I will be going right past you, then. We are going to Grove on Thursday to see our grandkids, and then on to Bella Vista, Arkansas, to spend a couple of days with my brother and sister-in-law (and my cute little nieces). We will be passing through Tulsa both going and coming.

Have a great trip, Leslee. I'll wave at you as we drive through T-town.

Mmm... Coney Island, yes, Jenks will be a hop, skip and a jump from where I'm staying so I'm do some antique shopping and enjoy some Coney Island. Thanks for that reminder Mugsy!

Dr. Mike, I'll wave back!

Madcap, I'm not really a camping sort of girl. I grew up in the middle of the woods. Literally! I quickly came to the conclusion that I could have the best of both worlds with my bed inside and the window open.

It is a miracle that so much flavor could be packed into such a tiny hot dog. Oh, wait a minute ... I hope they are halaal ...

CAMPING!!! Yikes! No, we're just going for the day!

Mugsy, I won't tell...

Madcap, I can handle spending a day at the lake! In fact, I grew up just 15 minutes from a lake and only a slight jog to the river. If only I had had a van I could have written a song about living in a van down by the river. Darn.

Bless you, my child.

You've got me inspired to do something, too. I'm thinking about a day trip to Canton lake. There's this nice little cove where the sand at the bottom is smooth and few people frequent. Sounds nice!

Have a good weekend!
