Mystery #2
A man lives on the twelfth floor of an apartment building. Every morning he wakes up, gets dressed, eats, goes to the elevator, takes it down to the lobby, and leaves the building for work. In the evening, he goes through the lobby to the elevator, and, if there is someone else in the elevator (or if it was raining that day) he goes back to his floor directly. However, if there is nobody else in the elevator and it hasn't rained, he goes to the 10th floor and walks up two flights of stairs to his room.

Being the genius that I am (I am so very humble), I know the answer to this riddle (I think). Let's see who the other geniuses are who frequent Fresh-Cut Flowers, though.

I'll play along . . . I think that the man is something of a health nut, and likes to take the stairs "on the outside of the building" when it doesn't rain in order to get a little exercise. But at the same time, he doesn't want others to think that he's getting off on the 10th floor, because that's where the psyciatrist's office is.

Lisa, you are very, very close. Now ask yourself: Why can't he reach the buttons? Or why can he reach the buttons when it rains?
when it rains, he can use his umbrella to hit the button on the 12th floor
