I don't want to be at work today. I'd much rather be anywhere else reading my book. Currently I'm reading Emma by Jane Austen. And I will admit it is much more intersting then my life.
I learned recently that Clueless, starring Alicia Silverstone and Paul Rudd and as well as a bunch of other good actors, was loosly based on this book. I loved Clueless when I was in highschool (though I think the TV show sucked) so I have a feeling how the book will turn out. I wish I had realized that the movie was based on Jane Austen's book back then, I might have read it then instead of now. But I have a pretty good idea how the book will turn out.
Ok ok, I'll confess, I rented the movie Emma starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Jeremy Northam, which like Clueless came out in the mid-nineties so I have a better idea how the book will end.
Well... and I read parts of the end of the book because I just couldn't wait...
Reading when you have a full time job, a full time family, and a tiny bit of a life is hard to do, but I'm managing. I'm not a fast reader, I like to enjoy the story and though suspense often tries to kill me, I do like it.

I'm glad you blogged on this today because I was so anxious to tell you that I watched "Pride & Prejudice" over the weekend. I really loved it, too. I watched all the extra stuff on the dvd.
I could see now how you'd want to own it...and watch it...over and over.
Mum, I've read Pride and Prejudice and own but not read Sense and Sensibility. I ALMOST picked up Persuasion this weekend but instead bought Little Women, which you know isn't an Austen book.
Cindy---And over again....I watched it again this weekend. I'm glad you enjoyed it too! I watched Emma, Sense and Sensibility, and Vanity Fair (not an Austen book but same period- not as good in my opinion) too this weekend. Gosh, it sounds like I was couch potato, but I did plant some flower and pulled some weeds as well as go to a soccer game this weekend too! I promise, come over to my house and I'll show you the flowers and Peanut can tell you all about the game!
I read a half-hour or so every night, so sometimes it takes FOREVER to get through a book!

Emma is the BEST book ever.
There is also a version of Emma with Kate Beckinsdale that is really fabulous!!
